TelephoneIntegration (TI): DTMF (DualToneMultifrequency) improved input procedure directly from your TI Client balloon.
This blog article describes the new feature, sending “dtmf” signals directly from the TI balloon. This new feature is available from version 5.56 or higher.
With the new feature you no longer need to do that over your telephone handset. You can use the “dtmf” button to send the dtmf signals directly from your TI Client balloon. (see screenshots below)
Examples of using dtmf functionality:
- authentication by conference calls
- interacting with IVR systems
That means, when you call e.g. a support telephonenumber, or you like to start a conference call, you maybe have to enter a access password or some digital numbers. With the new feature 5.56 of TI, you don't need to use your telephone handset, to enter your access password. Now you have the chance to choose direclty the “dtmf” function in TI.
For example that we want to call mscrm call center (+386 41 967 600) and discus license issues, we would have to do the following:
1. Call the phone number you have chosen via TAPI.
2. After dialing, you get the phone connection with the callee party (in this case with mscrm call center). With the new feature, we are able to select the “dtmf” directly from TI.(Screenshot below).
3. Now we should choose our option:
- 1 for technical questions
- 2 for license questions
- 3 for sales.
In our case, we choose option 2:
After pressing the “dtmf” button on the right, we should get connected to the agent in the license departement.
Change Culture-Info Group Calendar
If you want to change the date format of GroupCalendar you have to change the cultureinfo.
The cultureinfo represents information about a specific culture including the names of the culture, the writing system, and the calendar used, as well as access to culture-specific objects that provide information for common operations, such as formatting dates and sorting strings.
To change the cultureinfo in Group Calendar navigate to the localization folder in the GC installation path:
for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\PTM EDV-Systeme GmbH\GroupCalendar for MS CRM 2011\localization
Then open the XML-Document which concerns your language settings(for example en.xml).
Replace the Value of the culture key with the wished cultureinfo. (for example "en-US" could be replaced with "en-GB").
For more Information about CultureInfo-Class please read this article.

AttachmentExtractor Customize entity folders and attributes in Sharepoint
This feature requires AttachmentExtractor 5.24 or higher.
Outline :
1.) Enables AttachmentExtractor to create custom folder structures based on entity data from the regarding (email) or parent entity (annotation) .
2.) Enables AttachmentExtractor to create custom attributes on the sharepoint and fill them with data from regarding (email) or parent entity (annotation) .
HowTo:
The customization is requiring two new settings in the registry.
Create you configuration in the servicemanagement as usual and save it. Open the registry editor and find the configuration node :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PTM EDV-Systeme\AttachmentExtractorserver\Configurations
Find the Key, that is names identical to the configurationname you chose, eg. "crmonline"
You need to create two new string setting in that branch:
HaldenGroupCustomization_ConfiguredEntitiesAsCSV
and
HaldenGroupCustomization_MetaDataMappingAsCSV
Data structure for HaldenGroupCustomization_ConfiguredEntitiesAsCSV
the configured entities are a semicolon separated list following this schema :
entity_schema_name|attribute.attribute.attribute
entity_schema_name is the unique name of the entity, that would trigger a custom path, when a regarding (email) or parent (annotation) entity of the specified type is being identified.
the "." separated value list is a list of the attributes, that should be evaluated for path generation. Supported field types are entityreference, optionsets and value fields (Text or number)
Example:
account|createdby.name.territorycode;new_policy|new_policyholder.new_policyyear.new_policytype
The above setting will create a folder path with createby name , account name and territorycode optioenset value.
myusername/mycustomername/territorycodeoption1
Custom entities are supported.
Data structure for HaldenGroupCustomization_MetaDataMappingAsCSV
the configured entities are a semicolon seperated list following this schema :
attributename|attributefield;attributename|attributefield;
Example
HGCName|name;HGCAttrib1|territorycode;HGCCustomer|customerid
AttachmentExtractor will create a new attribute and try to identify a field on the regarding (email) or parent (annotation) entity, which is named as defined and copy the content of that field into the attribute on the sharepoint. Supported field types are entityreference, optionsets and value fields (Text or number)
Custom fields are supported

How to rebuild phone number index table
Sometimes when phone numbers are not being resolved, the cause for it can be an incomplete phone number index table in CRM.
The full name of this table is "MSCRM-ADDONS.com CTI CallInfos".
In this case it is advisable to rebuild this table from scratch, that includes removing all existing data in that table. For this we are using the Telephone Integration update service.
We do this with following steps:
1. Start TI Server Configuration Tool and choose your CRM organization and then press Launch config button.
2. After [Launch config] you choose [Configure Service]
3. After [Configure Service] a new window appears
4. Check the [Delete existing data] option
5. In [Crm Connection Setup] tab make sure that you have a valid CRM connection to the right CRM Organization and that the service is authenticated as a CRM user that has System Admin security role.
6. Press [Save Changes] and then [Activate Job]. After few moments you will see an update service status:
7. After configuring the service, press [Cancel] and [Close].
8. Check now if the phone number is being resolved. How to
How to change the default pinned/unpinned status of the GroupCalendar side pane
The GroupCalendar side pane which holds the view settings etc is per default unpinned. With a manual user-based setting it is possible to change the default behavior so that the GroupCalendar is opened with a pinned side pane.
To do so, please open a advanced find.
Select the entity “MSCRM-ADDONS.com User/Temp Settings”
Then click on “Results”. From there you have the option “New MSCRM-ADDONS.com User/Temp Settings”.
In this dialog you create a new user/temp setting. The “Name” must be “OverviewPinned_[USERGUID]”
[USERGUID] is the unique user id of the CRM user for which you’re configuring this setting. The GUID must entered without the “{“ “}” brackets e.g. “OverviewPinned_0a19dcc6-b470-e011-b77f-00155dc8ae09”
The “Value” could be either true (for pinned) or false (for unpinned)
After that please restart all browser windows to clear the session cache.

Remove the leading digits that are not part of the phone number
When calling over TAPI line, you sometimes need to predial a specific number to be able to make an external call. In some cases the TAPI driver is also passing this number to the TI client. If the TI client balloon shows the 0xyz phone number instead of xyz phone number, then you need to set 2 CRM server-side setting keys.
a.) removeLeadingCharacterOnNumber with a cached value "true"
b.) removeLeadingChars with a cached value "0"
The "removeLeadingChars" value can vary from case to case. Most often the outside access numbers are 0 (zero) or the 9 (nine).

AttachmentExtractor fails to upload large files
Issue:
AttachmentExtractor fails to upload files exeeding two megabytes of size (The actual size being blockes depends on various paramteres and might actually be lower than the set value)
Check, if you see a message similar to the following in the event log or the log overview of the service configuration:
The request message is to big. The server does not allow messages larger than 2097152 bytes.
This is indicating, that the default upload method is not working due to server side message size restrictions.
Solution:
- Note your servicename, as you have entered it, when creating the service. (e.g. MyService)
- Open the registry editor on the machine, where the AttachmentExtractor service is installed.
- Open the following key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PTM EDV-Systeme\AttachmentExtractorserver\Configurations
- Find the key, named euqal to your servicename (e.g. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PTM EDV-Systeme\AttachmentExtractorserver\Configurations\MyService)
- Find the following StringValue "UseSP15Upload"
- Change the value to "True" (Do NOT include the quotes)
- Stop and Restart the service

DocumentsCorePack: Insert QR-code fields in Office Open XML template(.docx)
This article describes, how to insert QR-code fields in Office Open XML template (.docx). Our new DocumentsCorePack v5.94 can be now downloaded from our homepage. For more information about QR-codes please click here.
The new function of DocumentsCorePack v5.94 now provides the possibility to:
1) insert QR-code fields in your Office Open XML (.docx) and to
2) change QR-code settings after saving the document
1) Insert QR-code field
The “Insert as QR Code”-function is available on every selected template type and for every inserted field.
You can find the new function in the “DocumentsCorePack Task Pane”. To get there, please open an existing or create a new template. Click on “Insert MailMerge Fields” in the toolbar and create a “Office Open XML (.docx)“-document by answering the question with [Yes]. (See screenshot below)
The “DocumentsCorePack Task Pane” appears:
Choose the required type in the “Select type”-dropdown box in our example “Quote”. Next click on the drop-down button within the [Insert]-button and choose the “Insert as QR Code”-function. Following window appears:
Now the required QR-code field(s) can be inserted with a double-click. NOTE: The displayed tree contains the same fields as you have choosen before in the “DocumentsCorePack Task Pane” under “Select type”. If you want to insert e.g.: account related fields, close the “field properties”-window displayed above, go back to the “DocumentsCorePack Task Pane” and choose "account".
You can insert as many fields as you want. Fields are displayed with angle brackets and separated with a “+”-sign in between. E.g.: <<description>>+<<subject>>
Additionally you have also the possibility to specify the name of the QR-code as follows:
Specify QR-code-name:
This setting predefines the name of the QR-code generated with this template. As mentioned above its possible to use data from fields out of CRM to be part of the QR-code name. With this it is possible to generate the QR-code-name dynamically, based on constant characters and/or values of fields.
Constant characters have to be in single quotes.
To use field values in the QR-code-name you have to choose the fields as described above or write the fieldname (schemaname) surrounded by <<and>>. Some examples:
QR-code-name | possible QR-code-name results |
'quote-'+<<quotenumber>>.pos(4,5) | quote-12345 |
<<customerid_account_name>>+'-'+<<quotenumber>> | TestCompany-QUO-12345-KWKJQ6 |
It is important that the inverted commas are also set!
Functions:
".pos(x,y)" will insert y signs from the xth position.
".left(x)" will insert the first x – signs
".right(x)" will insert the last x signs of the string
Afterwards all the selected types and fields will now be inserted as a QR Code:
Now the QR-code is ready to be merged with data from CRM (you can do this by clicking on the “Choose CRM Data”-button in your www.mscrm-addons.com tab). The QR-code can be a link, a visit-card-contact, contact, product information… etc.
NOTE: The information that the QR-code contains has to be plain text information!
2) Change QR-code settings
QR-code settings can be changed by clicking on the [Field properties]-button in the www.mscrm-addons.com-tab.
· Type: showsthe inserted field type. In our case it is “qrcode”.
· Name: shows the name of the inserted field.
· QR Code Level: shows the displayed level of the QR-Code. The default-setting detects the smallest value. If e.g.: the value of this option is set with 5 with a maximum sign-length of 108, then only 108 signs will be displayed. All the signs which exceeds this maximum length is cut. By clicking on the dropdown-button the level can be set from 1-20.
· Max Length: shows the maximum length of the information the QR-code contains. The maximal length changes automatically with the chosen QR-code level.
IMPORTANT: It is recommended to choose the default value to ensure that the information is resolved properly! Standard QR-code readers are able to dissolve the QR-code properly if the level has a maximul value 8. Otherwise the QR-code reader has to provide a higher quality.
· ERROR Correction: defines the capacity and fault tolerance of the QR-code. The value shows the amount that can be restored in percent. Please find in the list below the common level.
Capacity of the different error correction levels:
Level L | 7 % of the code words/data can be recovered |
Level M | 15 % of the code words/data can be recovered |
Level Q | 25 % of the code words/data can be recovered |
Level H | 30 % of the code words/data can be recovered |
IMORTANT: It is recommended to choose the default value. Otherwise data may be lost by trying to resolve the code!
If you have any questions about this product, please send an Email to support@mscrm-addons.com

Synchronizing TelephoneIntegration history with actual phonecalls
Synopsis:
This article explains the steps required to synchronize the actual call duration as recorded in the TelephoneIntegration history with actual phone calls in CRM.
Prerequisite:
This will only work for phonecalls, that are created with the "always store" option enabled in the CTI clients options.
Procedure:
You will need to create a workflow, to trigger the required plugin. Import the attached workflow to your CRM.
SynchronizationTemplate.zip (4.76 kb)
Or create a new one as follows:
Start with creating a new workflow and attaching it to the entity "MSCRM-Addons.com CTI CALL History".
On the next page make sure, the "start when" option is set to "Record is created".
Add a new step of type "Wait Condition".
Make sure all values are set as above BEFORE selecting the "Created On" attribute (highlighted in gray).
The timeout suggested with 2 hours should be adapted to your needs. If your processing time for a phonecall is exceeding two hours, you should increase this timeout to a more appropriate value.
Your workflow is now containing a wait condition. You will have to add another step to update the record and trigger the workflow now.
Click on the highlighted row and add an "Update Record" step.
Activate the workflow after having saved and close it and the duration will be synced to the phonecalls after the set period of timeout.
Please note, that the timeout must be sufficiently long to ensure the users are no longer editing the record, as the users saving the record would overwrite the duration again, if the sync has already taken place.
Please do not hesitate to contact us via support@mscrm-addons.com should you require further information.
